My knitting blog. We have two boys, aged 21 and 18 that don't live at home anymore. Two daughters, aged 11 and 8, and a brand new puppy. I've been knitting since 2002.

Hello
I finally played with Hello and figured out how to add pictures. YEAH! Now maybe my blog can look less boring. All I have to do now is figure out how to put buttons on the side.

Christmas
Well, it has been a couple of days, but I thought I should add a couple of notes about Christmas. My gifts were a BIG hit!!! There was much oohhing and aahhing about my work - the best part was that none of it was complicated! This is the first time I have ever been complimented on my work, so it felt good to hear.
For Christmas, the knitting related things I got were a "Knitting Pretty" wall calendar, two gift cert for my LYS ($25 + $30) plus some money to go to yarn, etc.
I just bought some Cascade 220 from ebay to use on Mariah knitalong. I also received yarn for Hourglass knitalong. Now I just have to finish my husband's vest, my son's Pasha the Penguin from Knitty and my brother's sweater - all birthdays coming up - and I can start on the knit alongs!

9 Year old logic
My 9 year old son asked me yesterday if we could keep the Christmas tree up forever. I said "No" He said "how come, it is an evergreen?"
Finally.....
I finished those *&@#(*% hat and scarf sets for my mom last night at about 11:30. I am taking them to her tonight. Now all I have to do for Christmas is felt some coasters, and weave in the ends on a scarf. And of course, wrapping.

Knitting Guru
You appear to be a Knitting Guru. You love knitting
and do it all the time. While finishing a piece
is the plan, you still love the process, and
can't imagine a day going by without giving
some time to your yarn. Packing for vacation
involves leaving ample space for the stash and
supplies. It can be hard to tell where the yarn
ends and you begin.

Hourglass Knit-a-long
I just joined the Hourglass Knit-a-long
http://hourglass-knit-a-long.blogspot.com.
I won't be able to start until the 25th - or as soon as I get some yarn.
I had been wanting to find a knit-a-long for after the holidays.
YEAHHHHHH

Last thing on the list for Christmas
The last thing on the list for Christmas is a whole bunch of little scarf/hat pins for my Mom to give as gifts at work. They are knit with embrodiary (sp?) floss on size 1 needles. They were really cool for about 3 sets, now I just hate them. I will scan a pic of one this week.

On the needles
Right now I am working on a hat to go with the scarf I finished last night. I still have to block a scarf for Christmas. I am knitting some pins for my mom - HATED IT!!! A vest for my husband that was going to be a Christmas present, but now will be for his birthday in January. I also have to felt some coasters for a neighbor. My first sock is on the needles, but I won't be able to work on it until after Christmas. And a sweater for me that is almost done, but it is after Christmas, too.
Projects on the "To-start-soon" list are:
A sweater for my brother's February birthday
A teddy for my son's February birthday
Both of my sons want hats
My older son needs a sweater "tweaked"
Then I would like to learn some more advanced techniques, like Fair-Isle, and Intarsia, Entralac, etc.
